I saw some people throwing the little shakers that were handed out but no one had a strong enough arm to even make to the field. None of them hit a ref from what I saw.

Richlands had a call or 2 go against them, too.

The first one was in the 1st q, I think. We'd already scored on a fake punt, and tried it again on 4th & 16 or so. The whole stadium thought we'd made the 1st down, but the ref spotted the ball back a bit, and it ended up short. (In all fairness, I didn't see a re-play, so maybe the spot was where the knee came down - that ones a maybe.)

On a short punt, the ball hit a R'heads player, then a R'lands player, then R'lands covered it. Refs gave the ball to R'heads. Mance was givin'em an earfull - used 2 timeouts in the process.

We were VERY lucky to come out of there with the win. And most people didn't think of Rockbridge as a huge underdog. They'd lost 4 games - one to the WV AAA runner-up, and 3 while the QB was out with a knee injuy. In 1 of those losses, they had -51 yards rushing & lost 21-0 at home.
In the rematch for the Regional crown, they won 41-12 on the road. We knew this wasn't your typical 4-loss team.

just watched it again.
obviously, no one ever watched surry county play.

I may be biased but I just again saw a 17 year old kid scoring a TD in a state championship game.

And being happy.

How about the Riverheads pass play that by one official was a non catch, because it hit the turf, then was reversed after a 4 minute meeting between the officials. I think it kept Riverheads one drive going. Where they scored before halftime, to pull within 1.
Got to wonder if the reply on the one post is true. The VHSL didn't even let their own officials work the game? Or it was a group of official from Northern VA.
Boy if that is the only way they can get even, over our dominance in FB. I feel sorry for them. But you know us rednecks here in SWVA, especially Region D and the LPD.

From listening on the radio I was very confused about this one since if it was a catch didn't the boy fumble and Burton recover.

I just watched the replay last night and I wish I had not even seen it because that is the worst I have ever seen. No taunting, no running of the mouth, no high fives, no ball throwing in someones face, no dancing, I have seen worse when someone makes a sack, interception, etc. This makes me sick. I wish I had never seen it. No, what happened was the pass bounced off the turf into the Riverheads players hands. He proceeded to go three yards before being tackled. The back judge came in and ruled it an incomplete pass because it hit the turf, but the others had a meeting and overruled it.
